Care Supreme vs Ultimate Care: Which Is Better? (2026)
Care Supreme vs Ultimate Care (Care Ultimate), compared on post-hospitalisation, restoration, bonus, maternity and discounts, with who each plan suits.

Care Supreme or Ultimate Care: which should you buy?
Care Supreme pays for longer after discharge and sells higher cover; Ultimate Care is the one to pick if you want maternity cover or rewards for staying claim-free. Both are Care Health plans with no room rent cap, no disease sub-limits and no base co-payment. Care Supreme pays 180 days after discharge against Ultimate Care's 90, and goes to ₹6 crore of defined cover against ₹1 crore.
Some buyers search for Ultimate Care as Care Ultimate. It is the same plan, and Ultimate Care is the name on its policy documents. Because both plans come from Care Health, they share one claim record: 96.0% of claims settled and 42.9 complaints per 10,000 claims (IRDAI data, a weighted average of the last three financial years, latest available as of March 2026).
Premiums depend on your age, city and cover. nyvo's premium database covers Care Supreme, at about ₹9,500 a year for a 30-year-old with ₹10 lakh of cover in Zone 1 (720 quotes, April 2026), but not Ultimate Care, so this page compares what each plan pays for rather than a price. A quote for both on the same cover, with the same options switched on, is the only fair way to compare cost. If you are weighing Care Health's older Care plan instead, read Care vs Care Supreme.
How do Care Supreme and Ultimate Care compare, feature by feature?
Care Supreme and Ultimate Care match on room rent, disease sub-limits, base co-payment, the built-in 50% bonus and the three standard waiting periods. They differ on how long they pay after discharge, how high defined cover goes, ambulance and consumables cover, and which options each sells, maternity included.

Is Ultimate Care cheaper than Care Supreme?
nyvo's premium database does not cover Ultimate Care, so neither plan can honestly be called the cheaper one. If an Ultimate Care quote comes in below Care Supreme on the same cover, three differences in the plans' own terms are worth checking before you take it: the welcome discount, two limits in Ultimate Care's base plan, and which options the quote includes.
- The welcome discount. Ultimate Care's welcome discount for new buyers is up to 30% in year one, 20% in year two and 10% in year three, against Care Supreme's up to 7.5% in year one and 5% in year two (each plan's own documents, as recorded in nyvo's policy database). On both plans discounts multiply rather than add, and the total is capped at 45% of the premium on Ultimate Care and 50% on Care Supreme. Compare the second and third years' premiums too, not just the first.
- Two limits in Ultimate Care's base plan. It pays 90 days of costs after discharge, against Care Supreme's 180, and its built-in restoration applies only from the second claim of a policy year, so the first claim is met from the sum insured and bonus alone. Each limit can be lifted with a paid option: the Pre-Post Hospitalization Expenses Modification and the Unlimited Automatic Recharge Booster.
- Which options are switched on. Infinity Bonus, Premium Payback, Tenure Multiplier, the inflation-linked cover option and Maternity Cover all cost extra on Ultimate Care, and consumables cover costs extra on both plans. Smart Select and Room Rent Modification, available on both, lower the premium by lowering the cover.
Where is Care Supreme the better choice?
Care Supreme suits a buyer who wants longer cover after discharge without paying for an option, or who needs more than ₹1 crore of defined cover. It is also one of the four plans in nyvo's best health insurance plans for 2026, and the only Care Health plan among them.
- Twice the post-hospitalisation window. Care Supreme pays 180 days of follow-up costs after discharge; Ultimate Care pays 90 unless you buy the option that extends it. Both pay 60 days before admission.
- Defined cover up to ₹6 crore. Ultimate Care's defined covers stop at ₹1 crore. Above that its only choice is the Unlimited Sum Insured, which switches off the cumulative bonus, the recharge, Loyalty Boost, Infinity Bonus, Unlimited Care and Tenure Multiplier.
- A milder Smart Select. On both plans, Smart Select trades a lower premium for a shorter hospital list and a 20% co-payment outside it. Ultimate Care also applies that co-payment to a reimbursement claim at a hospital inside the list.
Where does Ultimate Care pull ahead?
Ultimate Care suits a couple planning a child, a buyer who expects to stay claim-free for years, or one who wants more ways to shape the policy. Its base plan also pays ambulance costs up to the sum insured by any mode of transport, and adds a further 100% of the sum insured once, after seven claim-free years in a row.
- Maternity, as a paid option. Maternity Cover pays delivery, pre-natal and post-natal expenses up to a chosen share of the sum insured, after its own waiting period, for insured people aged 18 to 45. Newborn Baby Cover, Newborn Vaccination and Newborn External Congenital Defects are separate options that only work alongside it. Care Supreme has no maternity benefit and no add-on for one. See how maternity waits and limits compare.
- Loyalty Boost in the base plan. After seven consecutive claim-free years the plan adds a further 100% of the sum insured, once in the life of the policy, with no fresh waiting period on it. nyvo's record of Care Supreme lists no equivalent.
- Ambulance cover by any mode. Ultimate Care pays ambulance costs up to the sum insured by road, air, train or any other mode. Care Supreme caps road ambulance at ₹10,000 a year below ₹15 lakh of cover and sells air ambulance as a paid add-on of up to ₹5 lakh a year.
- A wider consumables option. Ultimate Care's paid consumables add-on covers the non-payable items in Lists I to IV. Care Supreme's covers the 68 items in List I, and Lists I to IV need its wider version under the separate Care Advanced add-on policy. Read why a settled claim still leaves a bill.
- An uncapped bonus inside the plan. Infinity Bonus adds 100% of the base sum insured every year, with no ceiling and whatever your claims, on top of the base 50%. Care Supreme's in-plan Cumulative Bonus Super stops at 500%. Drop either and what it has built up is forfeited. Read no-claim bonus vs guaranteed bonus.
- A broader Instant Cover. Ultimate Care's Instant Cover waives the pre-existing wait for seven named conditions against Care Supreme's four: diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and asthma on both, plus obesity, hypothyroidism and coronary artery disease where a PTCA was done over a year ago. On both plans cover starts on day 31, and only on your first policy with Care Health.
- More ways to shape the policy. Premium Payback refunds your first-year base premium after five years in a row with no hospitalisation claim, and again in each later five-year block; Tenure Multiplier pools a multi-year policy's sums insured for one claim; an inflation-linked option raises the sum insured at each renewal by the previous calendar year's CPI inflation; Cover Pause suspends cover for up to 30 days while everyone insured is abroad. All are paid options, and policy terms run up to five years against Care Supreme's three.

What should you check before buying either plan?
Both plans are sold as a base cover plus a long list of paid options, so two quotes at the same sum insured can be very different policies. Ask for the full list of options selected on each quote and check these points before you pay, starting with the options that can only be chosen at inception or on your first policy.
Care Supreme
- Consumables are not covered unless you buy the paid consumables add-on, and its wider version comes only with the separate Care Advanced add-on policy; you can take one or the other, not both.
- The 500% bonus is the paid Cumulative Bonus Super add-on, and everything accrued under it is forfeited if you drop it at a renewal.
- Instant Cover is available only on your first policy with Care Health and cannot be combined with the option that shortens the pre-existing wait to one or two years.
- Smart Select adds a 20% co-payment outside its hospital list, True Connect a 10% co-payment if you go straight to hospital for anything other than an emergency, and Room Rent Modification caps the room at a single private AC or twin sharing room.
- There is no maternity benefit and no add-on for one.
Ultimate Care
- The built-in restoration applies from the second claim of the policy year; without the paid Booster, the first claim is met from the sum insured and bonus alone. Read how restoration works.
- Post-hospitalisation is 90 days unless you buy the option that extends it.
- Infinity Bonus is forfeited in full if you stop renewing it, and the Unlimited Sum Insured switches off the cumulative bonus, the recharge, Loyalty Boost, Infinity Bonus, Unlimited Care and Tenure Multiplier.
- Premium Payback refunds the first-year base premium only, which excludes optional benefits and GST.
- Unlimited Care, Tenure Multiplier and Spouse Care have to be chosen at inception, and Instant Cover is available only on your first policy with Care Health.
- Room Rent Modification can cap the room at a single private AC room, twin sharing, a general ward or ₹3,000 a day; take a costlier room and the bill is cut proportionately, except medicines, implants and tests.
Which plan should you choose?
For most buyers who do not need maternity cover, Care Supreme: it pays for longer after discharge in the base plan and is the Care Health plan nyvo rates. Ultimate Care is the better choice if you want maternity cover, Loyalty Boost or its wider list of options, and will pay for the ones that matter to you.
Choose Care Supreme if you want 180 days of cover after discharge in the base plan, need more than ₹1 crore of defined cover, or want the plan nyvo rates among its best for 2026.
Choose Ultimate Care if you want maternity cover on the policy, expect to stay claim-free and want Loyalty Boost or Premium Payback, or want ambulance cover up to the sum insured by any mode.

FAQs
Is Care Ultimate the same as Ultimate Care?
Yes. Care Health's documents call the plan Ultimate Care, and some buyers search for it as Care Ultimate. It is a separate plan from Care Supreme, filed under its own UIN, CHIHLIP26058V022526.
Why is Ultimate Care cheaper than Care Supreme?
Not necessarily: nyvo's premium database does not cover Ultimate Care, so compare quotes on the same cover. Where Ultimate Care quotes lower, check its welcome discount of up to 30% in year one, tapering to 10% in year three, its 90 days of post-hospitalisation against Care Supreme's 180, and which paid options each quote includes.
Which plan pays for longer after discharge?
Care Supreme. It pays 180 days of post-hospitalisation costs against Ultimate Care's 90, and both pay 60 days before admission. Ultimate Care sells a paid option that extends both windows.
Does Care Supreme or Ultimate Care cover maternity?
Only Ultimate Care, as a paid option for insured people aged 18 to 45, with its own waiting period. Care Supreme has no maternity benefit and no add-on for one.
When does Ultimate Care's restoration start?
From the second claim of the policy year. The first claim is met from the sum insured and bonus alone unless you buy the Unlimited Automatic Recharge Booster, which brings restoration forward to the first claim.
Is the bonus the same on both plans?
Yes, in the base plan: both add 50% of the sum insured a year, up to 100%, and a claim does not reduce it. The paid options differ: Care Supreme's Cumulative Bonus Super stops at 500%, while Ultimate Care's Infinity Bonus adds 100% a year with no ceiling, and both are forfeited if you stop paying for them.
Do Care Supreme and Ultimate Care have the same claim settlement ratio?
Yes. Both are Care Health plans, so both carry a 96.0% claim settlement ratio and 42.9 complaints per 10,000 claims (IRDAI data, a weighted average of the last three financial years, latest available as of March 2026). The figures are published per insurer, not per plan.
