Care Health Ultimate Care Review 2026: Add-ons, Premium & Who Should Buy

7 min 42 sec · 10 October 2026 · nyvo

Care Health Ultimate Care (Care Ultimate) has no room rent limit, no co-payment and a built-in bonus of 50% at every renewal, up to 100%. In this video, Kshitij Jain, founder of nyvo, reads the brochure, the policy wording and the customer information sheet: the base features, the add-ons worth paying for (Infinity Bonus, Premium Freeze, Tenure Multiplier and Claim Shield), the waiting periods and Instant Cover+, how your zone and age set the premium, the welcome discount that steps down to nothing by year 4, key exclusions, Care Health's record from IRDAI data, and who should and should not buy the plan. One thing to know before you buy: Premium Freeze locks your entry age for the base premium until a claim is paid, and it does not stop the welcome discount from running out.

What this video says

  • Kshitij, founder of nyvo, reviews Care Health's Ultimate Care from its brochure, policy wording and customer information sheet: no room rent limit, no sub-limits even for modern or robotic surgery, no co-payment, and a built-in bonus of 50% a year up to 100%.
  • Kshitij says the base plan is good but not sufficient and recommends add-ons: Infinity Bonus (100% of the base cover every renewal, no cap), Premium Freeze (premium held at your entry age until you claim), Tenure Multiplier (a 3-year ₹10 lakh policy becomes ₹30 lakh) and Claim Shield for consumables, which he puts at 10% to 15% of a bill (correction: Premium Freeze holds only the base premium at the entry age; Tenure Multiplier pools the three years' cover into one amount for a single claim, usable once; nyvo puts consumables at roughly 5% to 15% of a bill).
  • The waiting periods are standard: 30 days, 2 years for specified illnesses such as cataract and hernia, and 3 years for pre-existing disease, which can be cut to 2 years or 1 year; Instant Cover+ covers seven diseases.
  • Kshitij says the premium depends on your age and one of four zones, and for a 30-year-old couple in Mumbai with the key add-ons he quotes about ₹14,200 for ₹10 lakh and ₹17,500 for ₹20 lakh (nyvo's current data: the zone count is not in nyvo's data, and these premiums are his own quotes; nyvo's premium data does not cover Care Ultimate).
  • Kshitij says the welcome discount is 30% in year one, then 20%, 10% and 0%, which he says raises the premium by about 30% from year four, and advises taking Premium Freeze so the premium does not jump (correction: when a 30% discount ends the premium rises by about 43%, and Premium Freeze locks the entry age; it does not stop the welcome discount running out).
  • The video says the exclusions are standard: cosmetic surgery, war and terrorism, substance abuse and illegal activity (nyvo's current data: reconstructive surgery after an accident, burns or cancer is not excluded).
  • Quoting IRDAI data for FY 2025-26, Kshitij gives Care Health a 97% claim settlement ratio, an amount settlement ratio of about 94%, around 40 complaints per 10,000 claims (higher than the industry standard) and 11,000 to 12,000 network hospitals (nyvo's current data: 96.0% of claims settled and 42.9 complaints per 10,000 claims, IRDAI three-year data as of March 2026; nyvo publishes no amount settlement ratio for health insurers).
  • Kshitij says the plan suits young buyers who want to freeze their premium and take the key add-ons, and does not suit someone who buys only the base policy (nyvo's current data: Premium Freeze covers the base premium only and ends at the first paid claim).

Figures to check against today's data

The video was recorded on 10 October 2026. Where nyvo's current data states a figure differently, it is below.

In the videonyvo's current data
2:17in this plan, if I haven't claimed, the premium remain constant.Premium Freeze locks the entry age for the base premium only, until a claim is paid. It does not cover the premium for options, and if Care Health revises the product the new rate is charged at the locked age.
2:29if you take a 3-year policy and 10 lakh coverage, that coverage multiplies and increase to 30 lakhs for all three years.Tenure Multiplier pools each year's sum insured into one pot for a single claim (on a three-year ₹10 lakh policy, ₹30 lakh for that one claim), usable once in the whole policy period and only if taken at inception.
2:49And this cost 10 to 15% of your bill.Roughly 5% to 15% of a hospital bill (industry estimates, as nyvo words it).
2:54there are other add-ons, such as beefit, wellness benefits, annual health checkup, grace period coverage, etc.nyvo's Ultimate Care record lists a Wellness Benefit, but no annual health check-up, no grace-period option and nothing named 'BeFit'; those are not in nyvo's published data.
3:21there is 30-day cooling off period for new policyThis is the 30-day initial waiting period (accidents covered from day one). 'Cooling off' usually means the free-look period, which is a different rule.
3:42While generally other policies cover four to five disease, this has seven disease.Ultimate Care's Instant Cover: seven conditions from day 31 (matches). Among plans nyvo records, Care Supreme covers four, Optima Secure Plus up to three of four, ICICI Lombard Elevate six, and Activ One Max's paid Chronic Care seven.
3:56This plan divide India across four zonesNot in nyvo's published data.
4:13they will get a premium of around 14,200. And if they take 20 lakhs of coverage, the premium will come around 17,500.As quoted in the video on 10 Oct 2026; not nyvo's published premium data. nyvo's premium database does not cover Ultimate Care.
4:50And then 20%, then 10%, and then 0%. So year fourth onwards, your premium will increase by 30% ... 10,000 rupees initially and increases to 13,000 in fourth yearThe 30%, 20%, 10% welcome discount matches nyvo's record. The arithmetic does not: losing a 30% discount raises the premium by about 43% (1 ÷ 0.70), so ₹10,000 in year one is about ₹14,300 in year four, before any age or rate change.
5:01And that's why freeze option is really important ... Take the premium freeze option so that your premium doesn't increase suddenlyPremium Freeze locks the entry age for the base premium; it does not stop the welcome discount running out, so the year-four jump happens with or without it (the video's own YouTube description says so). It also rules out the Early Bird discount.
5:54Care Health Insurance settled around 15 lakh 99,000 claims out of somewhere around 16 lakh 50,000 claims received. So overall their claim settlement ratio for FY 2025-26 was 97%.96.0% (IRDAI data, three-year weighted average, latest available as of March 2026). The video's figure is a single, later year; its counts work out to 96.9%.
6:06their amount settlement ratio was around 94%.Not in nyvo's published data (nyvo publishes no amount settlement ratio for health insurers).
6:20Care received around 40 complaints per 10,000 claims42.9 complaints per 10,000 claims (IRDAI data, average of 2022-25).

0:02Hi everyone. Welcome to nyvo insurance Policy Analysis. I am Kshitij. Founder of nyvo insurance. Today we will be talking about Ultimate Care Plan from Care Health Insurance.

0:10And I will be directly referring to sources to understand to tell you the plan in detail. I have policy brochure with me, policy wordings with me. As well as I have customer information sheet. These three documents help you to understand the policy in detail.

0:28And I will tell you the policy in next 5 minutes. Apart from that, we use IRDAI data to understand how the plan performance is. In this analysis, we will talk about five things. One, what are the base features in the plan?

0:43Second, the add-ons. Third, what are the specific periods and exclusions in this plan? Fourth, about the premium. And fifth, about IRDAI performance data.

0:53Coming to first, the base feature in the plan. Which include no room rent limit for any you can choose any kind of room you want. No kind of sub-limits for any kind of operations including any of modern surgeries or robotic. No kind of co-payment is in this plan.

1:06And this plan has inbuilt bonus of 50% on each renewal up to 100%. So any 10 lakhs of plan will increase to 15 and 20 lakhs by this default feature. The base features of this plan was launched last year. And one of the key things in this plan to notice that this plan similar to its previous version of Care Supreme is amalgamation of base policy and a lot of add-on.

1:32The base features of this plan are good but are not sufficient. So we will need to deep dive into what are the add-ons of this plan.

1:41Now coming to add-ons in this plan. This plan provides a lot of add-ons and you need to choose carefully. First is Infinity Bonus. Which provides you 100% of base sum insured on every renewal. We recommend this so that your base sum insured increase continuously without any cap and keep in line with inflation.

1:59Second great add-on in this plan is premium freeze. With this add-on, the age you buy the plan, your premium is freeze for that age. So, let's say I buy a cheap plan at the age of 30. Now, in generally, if I grow up to 50, my premium will increase a lot.

2:17But, in this plan, if I haven't claimed, the premium remain constant. This is my age of 30 years old. And this helps a lot of cost savings.

2:29Third is tenure multiplier. In this plan, if you take a 3-year policy and 10 lakh coverage, that coverage multiplies and increase to 30 lakhs for all three years. Fourth, a must-have add-on is claim shield. This includes your non-medical consumables, such as gloves, PPE kit, etc.

2:49And this cost 10 to 15% of your bill. You should definitely take this add-on. Apart from these, there are other add-ons, such as beefit, wellness benefits, annual health checkup, grace period coverage, etc. This plan has a lot of add-ons.

3:02These are good to have basis your requirement, but these are not must-have.

3:06Now, let's talk about key exclusions and waiting period. This plan, similar to other plan, has standard waiting periods and exclusions. There are not much fine prints in it. If I talk about waiting period, there is 30-day cooling off period for new policy, 2 years specified illness period for slow growing disease, such as cataract, hernia, etc.

3:27And 3-year waiting period for pre-existing disease, which you have. Now, one of the key things is this plan provide multiple option to reduce your 3-year waiting period. There is one instant cover plus, which covers seven disease. While generally other policies cover four to five disease, this has seven disease.

3:47Another way to reduce your waiting period is just to take of reducing the three-year waiting period to two year or one year.

3:56Now coming to premium of this plan. This plan divide India across four zones and bases your age and the zone you live in, the premium is taken out. Again, I am reminding you to take premium freeze options so that the premium you take doesn't increase with your age till you make the first claim.

4:13Now let's talk about 30-year old couple living in Mumbai. If they take 10 lakhs of coverage with key add-ons that I have mentioned, they will get a premium of around 14,200. And if they take 20 lakhs of coverage, the premium will come around 17,500. So with increasing the coverage, the plan significantly increases the premium as well.

4:35Now if we talk about now with premiums, we should also talk about discounts in this plan. And it is very important in this plan as this plan offers welcome discount which gives you 30% discount for year one premium. And then 20%, then 10%, and then 0%. So year fourth onwards, your premium will increase by 30% making the plan more expensive than what you would have thought.

5:01And that's why freeze option is really important. If you bought this plan thinking of 10,000 rupees initially and increases to 13,000 in fourth year plus anything related to age, plus anything related to inflation, fourth year onwards this plan can give you a shock. Be careful while buying the plan. Take the premium freeze option so that your premium doesn't increase suddenly and you are in shock later.

5:24Now coming to exclusions. Again, there are standard exclusions that are generally applicable across all health insurance in India. These include cosmetic surgeries, anything related to war, terrorism, etc. Anything related to substance abuse or drug product or anything related to illegal activity.

5:43Now let's talk about IRDAI performance data. This is official data that insurance company submit to IRDAI. And we only state the facts from here. If I talk about claim settlement ratio, Care Health Insurance settled around 15 lakh 99,000 claims out of somewhere around 16 lakh 50,000 claims received.

6:04So overall their claim settlement ratio for FY 2025-26 was 97%. Similarly, their amount settlement ratio was around 94%. And these both numbers are good. One place where Care numbers are not good is their complaints per 10,000 claims.

6:20Care received around 40 complaints per 10,000 claims, which is higher than industry standard. Now talking about network hospitals, Care has around 11,000 to 12,000 network hospitals. So you can go to their website or talk to us to check if there are network hospitals in your area.

6:36Now let's come to most important question. Who is this plan for or who isn't this plan for? This plan is for someone who is young, who wants to freeze their premium, and then their premium gets freeze and continue at lower cost. This is a solid plan with add-ons, which will give you infinite bonus, premium freeze, and all kind of facilities like non-medical consumables, no room rent limit, etc.

7:02Who is this plan not for? Someone who just buys the base policy and think they are covered, this plan is not for them. This plan is a mix of base and add-ons. So you have to be careful while selecting the add-ons so that your plan is comprehensive and you don't get any shocks later.

7:20This was the policy analysis and we have discussed in detail about plan as well as performance data. If you want to know more details about the plan or want comparison with other plans, you can book a call with nyvo expert. The link is in description. Hope you like this video.
