Key takeaways
Both plans have no room rent cap, no disease sub-limits and no base co-payment, so the choice rests on built-in extras and how fast cover grows.
Activ One MAX includes consumables cover and a yearly health check-up; on Care Supreme both are paid add-ons.
Activ One MAX's bonus adds 100% of base cover a year up to 500%, twice the pace of Care Supreme's 50% a year capped at 100%, and neither is reduced by a claim.
Activ One MAX's restoration does not apply to the very first claim of the policy; Care Supreme's refills cover without limit in a policy year once the base cover and bonus are used up.
The two insurers settle claims at a similar rate, but Care Health draws more than twice as many complaints on IRDAI's published data.

Activ One MAX or Care Supreme: which should you buy?

Aditya Birla Activ One MAX and Care Supreme both have no room rent cap, no disease sub-limits and no co-payment in the base plan. Activ One MAX includes consumables cover and a yearly health check-up, and grows its bonus twice as fast. Care Supreme lets up to six people hold their own sum insured on one policy and includes unlimited e-consultations.

Aditya Birla Health settles 96.5% of claims and Care Health 96.0%, but Care Health draws 42.9 complaints per 10,000 claims against Aditya Birla Health's 18.2 (IRDAI data, weighted average of the last three financial years, latest available as of March 2026).

Premiums depend on your age, city and cover, so this page compares what each plan pays for rather than a price. A quote for both plans on the same cover is the only fair way to compare cost.

Where is Activ One MAX the better choice?

Activ One MAX suits a buyer who wants the common extras included and a bonus that grows quickly. It also comes from the insurer that draws fewer complaints.

  • Consumables and a health check-up included. Claim Protect settles the non-payable items across all four annexure lists, and a cashless check-up is built in every year. On Care Supreme, Claim Shield and the health check-up are both paid add-ons.
  • Twice the bonus pace. Super Credit adds 100% of base cover a year up to 500% of base or ₹3 crore. Care Supreme's base bonus adds 50% a year up to 100%.
  • Longer pre-hospitalisation, 90 days against 60.
  • Road ambulance up to the sum insured at every cover size. Care Supreme caps it at ₹10,000 a year below ₹15 lakh of cover.
  • More children on a floater, up to 4 against 2.
  • Broader chronic cover. Chronic Care waives both the pre-existing and the initial waits for diabetes, hypertension, asthma, high cholesterol, COPD, obesity and coronary artery disease where a PTCA was done more than a year ago.

Where does Care Supreme pull ahead?

Care Supreme suits a buyer who wants individual covers for a large family on one policy, unlimited e-consultations, or the Unlimited Care option.

  • Restoration that switches on when cover runs out. Care Supreme refills the base sum insured without limit in a policy year, for the same or a different illness, once the base cover and bonus are used up. Activ One MAX's Super Reload does not apply to the very first claim in the life of the policy.
  • Individual cover for up to six people, including grandparents, on one policy.
  • Unlimited e-consultations with general physicians in the insurer's network, in the base plan.
  • Unlimited Care, an add-on that lifts every sum insured limit for one single claim in the life of the policy, if held from inception for five straight years.

What should you check before buying either plan?

Activ One MAX

  • Super Reload does not apply to the very first claim in the life of the policy.
  • The per-claim deductible option, if your quote includes it, bites on every claim rather than once a year.
  • Chronic Care is a paid add-on on MAX; it is built into the VYTL variant.
  • There is no maternity cover anywhere in the Activ One range.

Care Supreme

  • Consumables are not covered unless you buy Claim Shield.
  • The 500% bonus is the paid Cumulative Bonus Super add-on, and everything accrued under it is forfeited if you drop it at a renewal.
  • Instant Cover starts cover for its four conditions on day 31, and only on your first policy with the insurer.
  • Smart Select and True Connect cut the premium by adding co-payments of 20% and 10% in named situations.
  • There is no maternity benefit and no add-on for one.

Which plan should you choose?

Choose Activ One MAX if you want consumables and a health check-up included, want the bonus to grow fast, or have a chronic condition covered by Chronic Care.

Choose Care Supreme if you want individual covers for up to six family members on one policy, value unlimited e-consultations, or want the Unlimited Care option.

FAQs

Which plan includes consumables cover?

Activ One MAX, as standard, through its Claim Protect benefit. Care Supreme covers consumables only if you buy Claim Shield, which pays the 68 listed non-payable items, or Claim Shield+ under the separate Care Advanced add-on policy.

Which bonus grows faster?

Activ One MAX's. Super Credit adds 100% of base cover a year up to 500% of base or ₹3 crore, while Care Supreme's base bonus adds 50% a year and stops at 100%. Neither bonus is reduced by a claim.

How does restoration differ between the two plans?

Activ One MAX's Super Reload refills cover an unlimited number of times in a policy year, for the same or a different illness, but does not apply to the very first claim in the life of the policy. Care Supreme's Unlimited Automatic Recharge refills the base sum insured without limit in a policy year, for the same or a different illness, once the base cover and any bonus are used up.

Which plan is better if I have diabetes?

Activ One MAX with the Chronic Care add-on waives both the pre-existing and the initial waiting periods for diabetes and six other named conditions. Care Supreme's Instant Cover waives the pre-existing wait for diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and asthma, but cover starts on day 31 and it is available only on your first policy with Care Health.

Do Activ One MAX or Care Supreme cover maternity?

No. Neither plan has a maternity benefit or a maternity add-on.
