02Cover

What ReAssure 2.0 Titanium+ covers

These are the terms that decide what you are actually paid when you claim. Room rent, co-pay and restoration do more to shape a settlement than the sum insured does, and they are read from Niva Bupa's own policy wording.

03Add-ons

ReAssure 2.0 Titanium+ add-ons you can buy with it

Each of these costs extra and each has its own conditions. Some are genuinely worth it; several exist to patch a gap in the base plan. Ask what each one adds before it goes on your quote.

Safeguard+
Three covers in one. Claim Safeguard+ pays the non-payable items in Lists I to IV of Annexure I. Booster+ Safeguard+ protects your carry-forward when the year's claim is up to ₹1,00,000. Sum Insured Safeguard+ raises the base cover in line with CPI inflation.
Safeguard
The cheaper version. Non-payable items from List I only, carry-forward protected up to a ₹50,000 claim, plus the same CPI-linked increase. You can hold Safeguard or Safeguard+, not both.
Hospital Cash
A fixed daily amount on top of the claim, for up to 30 days – ₹1,000 a day up to ₹5 lakh cover, ₹2,000 between ₹7.5 lakh and ₹15 lakh, ₹4,000 above ₹15 lakh.
Personal Accident
Up to 5 times the base sum insured, capped at ₹1 crore, for accidental death and disability.
Pre-Existing Disease Waiting Time Modification
Brings the 36-month pre-existing wait down to 2 years or 1 year for extra premium. The same option can also be used to lengthen the wait in exchange for a lower premium, so check which direction your quote has applied.
Room Type Modification (this reduces your cover)
Swap the unrestricted room entitlement for a single private room or a sharing room and pay less. ICU is still paid up to the base sum insured either way.
Voluntary Co-payment (this reduces your cover)
Take a 20%, 30%, 40% or 50% share of every claim and the premium drops. It does not touch the health check-up, Live Healthy, second opinion, shared accommodation cash, e-consultation, personal accident or hospital cash benefits.
Annual Aggregate Deductible (this reduces your cover)
You pay the first ₹10,000, ₹20,000, ₹30,000, ₹50,000 or ₹1,00,000 of claims in a year yourself, and the premium falls accordingly.

05Waiting periods

ReAssure 2.0 Titanium+ waiting periods: when each part of the cover starts

Waiting periods run from the day cover began, not from the day you fall ill, and they run in parallel rather than one after another.

Initial Waiting Period30 days
Specific Illness24 months
Pre-Existing Disease36 months
Cancer (carve-out from the specific-illness list)30 days

The named illnesses that wait 24 months

These wait 24 months from the start of your first ReAssure 2.0 policy. An accident is covered from day one and cancer after only the 30-day wait. If the same condition is also pre-existing, the longer 36-month clock applies. Indicative list – the wording carries the full set.

Indicative listFrom the policy wording. Your own document governs.
01Pancreatitis and stones in the biliary and urinary system
02Cataract, glaucoma and retinal detachment
03Enlarged prostate, hydrocele and spermatocele
04Prolapsed uterus or cervix, endometriosis, fibroids, PCOD and hysterectomy unless caused by cancer
05Piles, fissure, fistula or abscess in the anal and rectal region
06Hernia of any site or type
07Osteoarthritis, joint replacement, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout and slipped disc
08Varicose veins of the lower legs
09Benign growths anywhere in the body tumours, cysts, polyps, nodules and lumps
10Ulcers, erosion or varices of the gastrointestinal tract
11Surgery for middle ear and mastoid disease, tonsils and adenoids, nasal septum and sinuses
06Exclusions

ReAssure 2.0 Titanium+ exclusions: what the plan will not pay for

Every policy carries exclusions, and they are the clauses people read for the first time at claim stage. These are the ones worth knowing before you buy.

Not coveredIndicative, not exhaustive. Your policy wording is the contract.
01An admission where only tests were done and no treatment followed – an MRI, CT scan, endoscopy or colonoscopy stay is not payable
02Maternity and childbirth, and sterility, infertility and IVF – there is no maternity option on this plan
03Custodial care and hospice care help with daily living or end-of-life support rather than active treatment
04Cosmetic or plastic surgery, unless it rebuilds you after an accident, burn or cancer
05Treatment needed because you took part in a hazardous or adventure sport as a professional
06Home medical and ambulatory devices such as pulse oximeters, BP monitors, CPAP machines, crutches and wheelchairs
07The honest bit

Where ReAssure 2.0 Titanium+ falls short

No plan is right for everyone, and a page that only lists strengths is not much use to you. These are the gaps we would raise on a call before recommending it.

Worth knowing before you buyNone of these are dealbreakers on their own. They are the trade-offs this plan asks you to accept.
01There is no maternity cover and no maternity rider. Childbirth, IVF and infertility treatment are permanently excluded, so a couple planning a family has to look at a different plan.
02Booster+ only credits cover you did not use. Claim in a year and nothing is added for that year, which is a different mechanic from a guaranteed bonus that grows regardless.
03ReAssure Forever is dormant until your first claim is paid. Buy the policy today and, for that first claim, your ceiling is the base sum insured plus whatever Booster+ has built.
04Non-medical consumables are excluded unless you buy Safeguard or Safeguard+, and the two versions differ – Safeguard covers List I only, Safeguard+ covers all four lists.
05Air ambulance is capped at ₹2,50,000 per hospitalisation, which is half of what several competing plans allow.
08FAQs

ReAssure 2.0 Titanium+ questions, answered

How does Booster+ differ from an ordinary no-claim bonus?

It carries forward the part of your base cover you did not spend, rather than crediting a fixed percentage. On Titanium+ that carry-forward can accumulate to 10 times your base sum insured, so a ₹10 lakh policy held clean for a decade can be worth ₹1.1 crore. The trade-off is that a claim in any year means nothing is added for that year.

When does the unlimited restoration actually start?

The first claim the insurer pays triggers ReAssure Forever, and from that point it stays for the life of the policy provided you renew without a break. Each refill is capped at the base sum insured, but there is no limit on how many times it fires. Until that first paid claim, you are working with base cover plus Booster+ only.

Is there a room rent limit on ReAssure 2.0 Titanium+?

No. The prospectus is explicit that the plan does not limit your room choice, and there is no proportionate deduction for picking a higher category. Watch the optional Room Type Modification, though – it lowers your premium precisely by putting a single-private or sharing restriction back in place.

What is Lock the Clock?

Your premium is charged at the age you were when you bought the policy and stays there until a claim is paid. Once a claim is paid the age unlocks and you move to your actual-age pricing. On a floater, a claim by any member unlocks the age for the whole policy.

What are the waiting periods?

30 days for any illness other than an accident, 24 months for a named list of conditions, and 36 months for pre-existing disease. Cancer is carved out of the 24-month list and is covered after just the 30-day wait. The pre-existing wait can be bought down to 2 years or 1 year.

Does this plan cover consumables?

Not by default. Gloves, PPE, syringes and the other items hospitals bill outside the room and procedure charges sit on the non-payable list. Safeguard buys back List I; Safeguard+ buys back all four lists. If a quote you have been given says consumables are covered, check which of the two it includes, because they are not the same cover.
