Niva Bupa Aspire Titanium+

Aspire is built for people who buy young. Titanium+ is its top variant: no room-category cap, unlimited ReAssure Forever refills once your first claim is paid, Lock the Clock+ which holds your premium at your entry age until you claim, an in-built maternity pot (M-iracle) that waits only 9 months, and Booster+ carry-forward of up to 10x the base cover – though that 10x cap depends on how old you were on day one.

02Cover

What Aspire Titanium+ covers

These are the terms that decide what you are actually paid when you claim. Room rent, co-pay and restoration do more to shape a settlement than the sum insured does, and they are read from Niva Bupa's own policy wording.

03Add-ons

Aspire Titanium+ add-ons you can buy with it

Each of these costs extra and each has its own conditions. Some are genuinely worth it; several exist to patch a gap in the base plan. Ask what each one adds before it goes on your quote.

Safeguard+
Three things in one. Claim Safeguard+ pays the non-payable items in Lists I to IV of the policy annexure. Booster+ Safeguard+ protects your carry-forward if the year's claim is under ₹1,00,000. Sum Insured Safeguard+ raises your base cover in line with CPI inflation.
Safeguard
The cheaper version of the same idea. Non-payable items from List I only, carry-forward protected below a ₹50,000 claim, plus the CPI-linked increase. You can hold Safeguard or Safeguard+, not both.
Future Ready
Guaranteed issuance for a spouse you marry later, and they inherit the waiting periods you have already served rather than starting from zero.
WellConsult (OPD)
Outpatient cover – unlimited teleconsultation, ₹10,000 of physical consultations, ₹10,000 of diagnostics and ₹2,500 of pharmacy, each with a 20% co-pay on reimbursement, plus emotional wellness and fitness sessions.
Cash-Bag
Cashback accrued in every claim-free year – 10% of your first renewal premium and 5% of each renewal after that. Spend it on premiums, OPD, deductibles or co-payments.
Borderless
Treatment anywhere in the world up to your sum insured, with a 50% co-payment by default. You can buy the co-payment down to 0%, 20%, 30% or 40%.
Personal Accident
Up to 5 times the base sum insured, capped at ₹1 crore, for accidental death and disability.
Hospital Daily Cash
A fixed daily amount on top of the claim – ₹1,000 a day up to ₹5 lakh cover, ₹2,000 between ₹7.5 lakh and ₹15 lakh, ₹4,000 above ₹15 lakh.
Pre-Existing Disease Waiting Time Modification
Cuts the 36-month pre-existing wait to 24 or 12 months for extra premium. It can only be chosen when you first buy the policy, never at renewal.
Room Type Modification (this reduces your cover)
Agree to a shared room or a standard single room instead of any room, and the premium falls. It puts back the room restriction the base plan does not have.
Voluntary Co-payment (this reduces your cover)
Choose a 10% to 50% share of every claim and pay less premium. On an ₹8 lakh bill a 20% co-pay is ₹1.6 lakh out of your own pocket.
Annual Aggregate Deductible (this reduces your cover)
You pay the first ₹10,000 to ₹5,00,000 of claims in a year yourself, and the premium drops accordingly.

Aspire Titanium+ discounts you can ask for

Published discounts on this plan. Most are applied at quote stage rather than offered, so it is worth naming the ones you qualify for. Every figure is a ceiling, not a promise - what you actually get depends on the case.

05Waiting periods

Aspire Titanium+ waiting periods: when each part of the cover starts

Waiting periods run from the day cover began, not from the day you fall ill, and they run in parallel rather than one after another.

Initial Waiting Period30 days
Specific Illness24 months
Pre-Existing Disease36 months
Maternity (M-iracle) on Titanium+9 months

The named illnesses that wait 24 months

These wait 24 months from the start of your first Aspire policy. An accident is covered from day one and cancer after only the 30-day wait. This list is indicative – the policy wording carries the full set.

Indicative listFrom the policy wording. Your own document governs.

06Exclusions

Aspire Titanium+ exclusions: what the plan will not pay for

Every policy carries exclusions, and they are the clauses people read for the first time at claim stage. These are the ones worth knowing before you buy.

Not coveredIndicative, not exhaustive. Your policy wording is the contract.
01An admission where only tests were done and no treatment followed – an MRI, CT scan, endoscopy or colonoscopy stay is not payable
02Custodial care and hospice care help with daily living or end-of-life support rather than active treatment
03Cosmetic or plastic surgery, unless it rebuilds you after an accident, burn or cancer
04Treatment needed because you took part in a hazardous or adventure sport as a professional
05Treatment in a health hydro, nature cure clinic or spa, and any admission arranged for domestic reasons
06Home medical and ambulatory devices such as pulse oximeters, BP monitors, CPAP machines, crutches and wheelchairs
07The honest bit

Where Aspire Titanium+ falls short

No plan is right for everyone, and a page that only lists strengths is not much use to you. These are the gaps we would raise on a call before recommending it.

Worth knowing before you buyNone of these are dealbreakers on their own. They are the trade-offs this plan asks you to accept.
01The maternity pot is far smaller than the name suggests. M-iracle starts at ₹4,000 a year on a ₹3 lakh policy and reaches only ₹25,000 on ₹50 lakh and above. It becomes useful only if you hold the policy unclaimed for years and let it accumulate.
02The headline 10x Booster+ is age-gated. Join between 18 and 35 and the carry-forward caps at 10x your base cover; join at 36–45 and it caps at 5x; join at 46 or later and it caps at 3x.
03ReAssure Forever does nothing until your first claim is paid. In the year you buy, all you have is the base sum insured plus whatever Booster+ you have built.
04Non-medical consumables gloves, PPE, syringes and the rest – are excluded unless you pay for Safeguard or Safeguard+. That gap turns up on the bill after the claim is settled.
05You cannot buy Aspire at all after 65, so it is not a plan you can move an older parent into later.
08FAQs

Aspire Titanium+ questions, answered

Is the 10x bonus guaranteed on Aspire Titanium+?

No. The cap depends on your age when you first bought the policy. At 18 to 35 the carry-forward can build to 10 times your base cover, at 36 to 45 it stops at 5 times, and from 46 it stops at 3 times. It also only builds from cover you did not use, so a claim in a year means nothing is added for that year.

How much maternity cover does M-iracle actually give me?

Less than most buyers expect. The annual amount is tied to your base cover – ₹4,000 at ₹3 lakh, ₹12,000 at ₹10 lakh, ₹25,000 at ₹50 lakh or ₹1 crore. Unused amounts carry forward the same way Booster+ does, so someone who bought young and never claimed can accumulate a couple of lakh over a decade. A delivery in year two will not be covered in full.

Does Aspire limit which hospital room I can take?

The base plan does not. Any room category is paid up to your sum insured. Be careful with the optional Room Type Modification, though – it trades your premium down in exchange for a shared or standard single room restriction, which is exactly the cap you would otherwise be avoiding.

What is Lock the Clock+?

Your premium is charged at the age you were when you joined, and it stays there until a claim is paid. On Titanium+ the plus version means a maternity claim does not break the lock. Once any other claim is paid, pricing moves to your actual age and carries on ageing normally.

What are the waiting periods?

Three main clocks plus one for maternity. Any illness other than an accident waits 30 days. A named list of conditions waits 24 months. Pre-existing conditions wait 36 months. M-iracle maternity waits 9 months on Titanium+. Cancer is a useful carve-out here – it is covered after just the 30-day wait rather than sitting on the 24-month list.

Can I shorten the pre-existing disease wait?

Yes, down to 24 or 12 months, for extra premium. The catch is timing: that option can only be added when you first buy the policy, not at a renewal, so it is a decision you make once.
