What Aspire Titanium+ covers
These are the terms that decide what you are actually paid when you claim. Room rent, co-pay and restoration do more to shape a settlement than the sum insured does, and they are read from Niva Bupa's own policy wording.
| Feature | This plan | What good looks like |
|---|---|---|
| Co-payment | None as standard – a voluntary 10% to 50% co-pay can be chosen to cut the premium | No Co-payment |
| Room Rent Limit | No room category cap – any room, paid up to the sum insured | No room rent capping |
| Disease sub-limit | No disease sub-limits. Modern treatments also paid up to the sum insured | No sub-limit |
| Booster+ (annual carry-forward) | Unutilised base cover carries forward each year – up to 10x if you joined at 18–35, 5x at 36–45, 3x at 46+ | 50% each year (Minimum upto 100%) |
| Restoration Benefit (ReAssure Forever) | Unlimited refills, each up to the base sum insured – but only from your first paid claim onwards | 100% restoration once in a year |
| Pre-Hospitalization | 60 days | At least 60 days |
| Post-Hospitalization | 180 days | At least 120 days |
| Consumables | Not covered in the base plan – needs the paid Safeguard or Safeguard+ option | Consumables covered |
| Maternity (M-iracle) | Built in, 9-month wait. The annual pot runs ₹4,000 at ₹3 lakh cover to ₹25,000 at ₹50 lakh and above, and carries forward if unused | Maternity cover included |
| Air Ambulance | Covered up to the base sum insured in an emergency | Included |
| Day-Care Procedures | All day-care treatments covered up to the sum insured; an admission of 2 hours or more qualifies | Covered without a capped list |
| Annual Health Check-up | ₹500 for every ₹1 lakh of base cover, capped at ₹5,000 per person and ₹10,000 per floater policy. Cashless only | Included |
| Entry age | Adults 18 to 65. There is no maximum age at which cover stops on renewal | No maximum entry age |
Aspire Titanium+ add-ons you can buy with it
Each of these costs extra and each has its own conditions. Some are genuinely worth it; several exist to patch a gap in the base plan. Ask what each one adds before it goes on your quote.
Aspire Titanium+ discounts you can ask for
Published discounts on this plan. Most are applied at quote stage rather than offered, so it is worth naming the ones you qualify for. Every figure is a ceiling, not a promise - what you actually get depends on the case.
| Discount | Worth | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Live Healthy | Up to 30% | Earned by walking. 1,000 steps is one health point; the discount applies when you buy and at every renewal. |
| Multi-individual discount | Up to 10% | Two or more members covered under one individual policy. |
| Start Healthy | Up to 10% | If the insurer did not ask for a medical test, you take one voluntarily, and every reading comes back normal. |
| Digital discount | Up to 5% | Buying and renewing through Niva Bupa's own online portal. |
| Doctor discount | Up to 5% | If an insured person is a certified medical practitioner. |
| Long-term discount | Up to 10% or 12.5% | 10% off the second year's premium on a 2-year policy; 7.5% off year two and 12.5% off year three on a 3-year policy. Not available on instalments. |
| First step into health insurance | Up to 4.5% | New business only, for buyers who have never held health cover. 1% on a 2-year term and 0.5% on 3 years. |

Aspire Titanium+ waiting periods: when each part of the cover starts
Waiting periods run from the day cover began, not from the day you fall ill, and they run in parallel rather than one after another.
| Initial Waiting Period | 30 days |
|---|---|
| Specific Illness | 24 months |
| Pre-Existing Disease | 36 months |
| Maternity (M-iracle) on Titanium+ | 9 months |
The named illnesses that wait 24 months
These wait 24 months from the start of your first Aspire policy. An accident is covered from day one and cancer after only the 30-day wait. This list is indicative – the policy wording carries the full set.
Aspire Titanium+ exclusions: what the plan will not pay for
Every policy carries exclusions, and they are the clauses people read for the first time at claim stage. These are the ones worth knowing before you buy.
Where Aspire Titanium+ falls short
No plan is right for everyone, and a page that only lists strengths is not much use to you. These are the gaps we would raise on a call before recommending it.
Aspire Titanium+ questions, answered
Is the 10x bonus guaranteed on Aspire Titanium+?
No. The cap depends on your age when you first bought the policy. At 18 to 35 the carry-forward can build to 10 times your base cover, at 36 to 45 it stops at 5 times, and from 46 it stops at 3 times. It also only builds from cover you did not use, so a claim in a year means nothing is added for that year.
How much maternity cover does M-iracle actually give me?
Less than most buyers expect. The annual amount is tied to your base cover – ₹4,000 at ₹3 lakh, ₹12,000 at ₹10 lakh, ₹25,000 at ₹50 lakh or ₹1 crore. Unused amounts carry forward the same way Booster+ does, so someone who bought young and never claimed can accumulate a couple of lakh over a decade. A delivery in year two will not be covered in full.
Does Aspire limit which hospital room I can take?
The base plan does not. Any room category is paid up to your sum insured. Be careful with the optional Room Type Modification, though – it trades your premium down in exchange for a shared or standard single room restriction, which is exactly the cap you would otherwise be avoiding.
What is Lock the Clock+?
Your premium is charged at the age you were when you joined, and it stays there until a claim is paid. On Titanium+ the plus version means a maternity claim does not break the lock. Once any other claim is paid, pricing moves to your actual age and carries on ageing normally.
What are the waiting periods?
Three main clocks plus one for maternity. Any illness other than an accident waits 30 days. A named list of conditions waits 24 months. Pre-existing conditions wait 36 months. M-iracle maternity waits 9 months on Titanium+. Cancer is a useful carve-out here – it is covered after just the 30-day wait rather than sitting on the 24-month list.
Can I shorten the pre-existing disease wait?
Yes, down to 24 or 12 months, for extra premium. The catch is timing: that option can only be added when you first buy the policy, not at a renewal, so it is a decision you make once.
Read it from the insurer
We summarise. The policy wording is the contract, and it is the only document that settles a dispute. These links go to the insurer's own pages.
Understand the terms before you commit
A plan page tells you what this policy does. These explain why each term matters and what it costs you when it is missing.
Other Niva Bupa plans we have read
Niva Bupa files these separately, and the terms differ between them. If you are choosing within the range, compare the waiting periods and the exclusions rather than the sum insured.
