Niva Bupa network hospitals: how to find and check a cashless hospital
Niva Bupa's cashless network runs to about 10,000 hospitals, the figure on our Niva Bupa plan pages (nyvo policy database, October 2026). On ReAssure 3.0 the list that counts can be shorter: its optional Tiered Network cover limits you to a named set of hospitals, with a 20% co-payment on any claim outside it.

How do I find a Niva Bupa hospital in my city?
Niva Bupa doesn't give a city-wise count that we could read, so we haven't printed one rather than guess. Open its hospital network search and look up the hospitals you'd actually use, by name.
If your policy carries Tiered Network, search your own list instead. The ReAssure 3.0 wording points to it at Niva Bupa's tiered network page, and that shorter list, not the full network, decides whether you pay the 20%.
Pick the two or three hospitals nearest your home, not just the big name in town. In an emergency you go to the closest one, and that's the one whose status you'll need at 2 am.
How do I check a hospital is cashless on my Niva Bupa policy?
- 1Look the hospital up by name on Niva Bupa's hospital network search.
- 2Check your policy schedule for HeadsUp or Tiered Network. A policy carries one or the other, not both, and each changes which hospital you should be using.
- 3Call 1860-500-8888 with your policy number and ask whether that hospital is active for cashless on your plan, for the treatment you need. If you hold HeadsUp, this call, 48 hours ahead, is also the notice the cover asks for.
- 4Ask the hospital's insurance desk whether it's taking cashless for Niva Bupa right now, for your treatment. Desks are sometimes behind on their own status, so if the desk and Niva Bupa disagree, go by Niva Bupa.
- 5For a planned admission, start the pre-authorisation before the day you're admitted and keep the approval reference. It's what you quote if anything changes during the stay.
Does Niva Bupa charge more outside its network?
Not as standard. Niva Bupa's plans don't put a co-pay on a non-network hospital by default. Two optional covers on ReAssure 3.0 change that, and both are sold as premium savings, so read what your quote has switched on.
HeadsUp (wording clause 4.26) asks you to call 48 hours before a planned admission, or within 24 hours of an emergency one, and to be treated for that illness at Niva Bupa's recommended network provider. Miss any part of it and 20% of the claim is yours. Tiered Network (clause 4.27) limits you to a specific list inside the network, with a flat 20% co-payment on the admissible claim anywhere else.
Worked through: a ₹2 lakh admissible claim at a hospital off your tiered list leaves you paying ₹40,000. Health Companion had an older Tiered Network option too. It's closed to new buyers, but holders who renew it pay a 20% co-payment on reimbursement if they're treated in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad or Surat.
If a hospital has been taken off the network, that doesn't cancel your cover. Our guide on what to do when a hospital is delisted covers checking the status and claiming back.
What happens at the hospital desk?
At a network hospital, the insurance desk sends the cashless request with your health card and ID. IRDAI's 2024 Master Circular on Health Insurance Business gives the insurer one hour to decide on a cashless request and three hours to give final approval once the hospital asks to discharge you. If final approval takes longer than three hours, any extra the hospital charges for the wait is the insurer's to bear, not yours.
Cashless isn't a zero bill. Co-pay, non-payable items and anything above your plan's limits are still yours at discharge. Our Niva Bupa claim guide has the full steps and the documents, and if a request stalls, call Niva Bupa on 1860-500-8888.
Hospital not in the network? Since January 2024, Cashless Everywhere lets you ask for cashless at a hospital outside the network too. Tell Niva Bupa at least 48 hours before a planned admission; the hospital has to agree, and an excluded hospital is the exception. How cashless works in general is in our guide to cashless network hospitals.
Niva Bupa network hospitals: questions people ask
What is Tiered Network on Niva Bupa ReAssure 3.0?
It's an optional cover that cuts the premium by limiting you to a specific list of hospitals inside Niva Bupa's network. Treatment anywhere else carries a flat 20% co-payment on the admissible claim, every time, under clause 4.27 of the wording. A ₹2 lakh claim outside the list costs you ₹40,000, so check your nearest hospitals are on it first.
What does HeadsUp mean on a Niva Bupa policy?
It means calling Niva Bupa 48 hours before a planned admission, or within 24 hours of an emergency one, and being treated at its recommended network provider. Skip the call, change the treatment, or go elsewhere, and a 20% co-payment applies (ReAssure 3.0 wording, clause 4.26). A policy can carry HeadsUp or Tiered Network, not both.
What if the hospital desk says it isn't in Niva Bupa's network?
Check with Niva Bupa, not the desk, on 1860-500-8888. Hospital desks are sometimes behind on their own status. If the hospital really is out of the network, your cover still stands: you can ask for cashless under Cashless Everywhere with notice, or pay and claim it back, though a HeadsUp or Tiered Network co-pay may apply.
Is there a Niva Bupa hospital list PDF?
Not for the full network, as far as we could find. Niva Bupa publishes it as an online search, and its ReAssure 3.0 wording sends Tiered Network holders to an online list too. Search your area there and save the page if you want a copy; a PDF forwarded on WhatsApp may be months out of date.
