Arogya Top Up in one table
Claim settlement and complaint figures are IRDAI-published and held centrally by nyvo, not taken from the insurer's marketing.
What Arogya Top Up covers
These are the terms that decide what you are actually paid when you claim. Room rent, co-pay and restoration do more to shape a settlement than the sum insured does, and they are read from SBI General's own policy wording.

| Feature | This plan | What good looks like |
|---|---|---|
| Entry age | 3 months to 65 years, or to 70 with a deductible of ₹5 lakh or more | Infants covered without a separate policy |
| How the deductible works | Per event. SBI's Customer Information Sheet covers expenses 'subject to deductible for each event', and neither the prospectus nor the policy wording describes an annual aggregate. Each hospitalisation has to cross the deductible on its own, which makes this a top-up rather than a super top-up. | Aggregate is better than per-claim |
| Deductible options | ₹1 lakh to ₹10 lakh, in steps of ₹1 lakh | Match it to the cover you already hold |
| Cover above the deductible | ₹1 lakh to ₹50 lakh, depending on the deductible chosen | ₹50 lakh or more for a metro family |
Arogya Top Up waiting periods: when each part of the cover starts
Waiting periods run from the day cover began, not from the day you fall ill, and they run in parallel rather than one after another.
| Pre-existing disease | 36 months of continuous cover |

Arogya Top Up exclusions: what the plan will not pay for
Every policy carries exclusions, and they are the clauses people read for the first time at claim stage. These are the ones worth knowing before you buy.
Where Arogya Top Up falls short
No plan is right for everyone, and a page that only lists strengths is not much use to you. These are the gaps we would raise on a call before recommending it.
Arogya Top Up questions, answered
Do I need an existing policy to buy this?
In practice, yes. It only pays the part of each hospitalisation above the deductible you choose, so each event's bill up to that figure is yours. It is designed to sit on top of a retail policy or an employer's cover.
Is the deductible per claim or for the whole year?
Per event, on SBI's own Customer Information Sheet: each hospitalisation is measured against the deductible on its own, so two admissions of ₹80,000 against a ₹1 lakh deductible pay nothing. A super top-up with an annual aggregate deductible would add them together and pay ₹60,000. Neither the prospectus nor the policy wording describes an aggregate deductible.
How do I choose the deductible?
Set it at or just below the cover you already hold, so the two meet without a gap. A deductible far below your existing cover means you are paying twice for the same rupees.
Read it from the insurer
We summarise. The policy wording is the contract, and it is the only document that settles a dispute. These links go to the insurer's own pages.
Understand the terms before you commit
A plan page tells you what this policy does. These explain why each term matters and what it costs you when it is missing.
Other SBI General plans we have read
SBI General files these separately, and the terms differ between them. If you are choosing within the range, compare the waiting periods and the exclusions rather than the sum insured.
