Digit Glow Plus

Go Digit Life's term plan, sold in two shapes: pure term, or a return-of-premium variant that pays a maturity benefit if you outlive the policy. Accelerated terminal illness cover is built in. Go Digit Life is new enough that it has no meaningful claims record yet, which is the single most important thing to understand before buying it.

What Digit Glow Plus does, and what it does not

Term insurance is a narrow product, so the useful question is not how this plan scores against a benchmark - it is what it pays for and what it leaves out. Both lists come from Go Digit Life's own documents.

What this plan does
  • Two variants - pure term, or term with return of premium
  • Inbuilt accelerated terminal illness benefit
  • Early exit and surrender provisions set out in the policy document
What it does not do
  • A published claim settlement ratio - the insurer is too new to have one
Variants

Which variant should you take?

This plan is sold in more than one form, and the choice is made once at purchase. Picking the wrong one is not something you can quietly correct later, so it is worth a minute now.

Term Insurance

Most buyers

Pure cover. Pays on death, nothing on survival.

Term Insurance with Return of Premium

Pays a maturity benefit if you outlive the term. Costs materially more than the pure version for the same cover - you are pre-paying for the refund.

Exclusions

What this plan will not pay for

Every policy carries exclusions, and they are the clauses people read for the first time at claim stage. These are the ones worth knowing before you buy.

Not covered

Indicative, not exhaustive. Your policy wording is the contract.

  • Suicide within 12 months of policy commencement or revival - the payout is limited to a return of premiums, per the standard clause. Read the policy wording for the exact percentage.
  • The terminal illness benefit is accelerated, so it brings the death benefit forward rather than adding to it.
The honest bit

Where Digit Glow Plus falls short

No plan is right for everyone, and a page that only lists strengths is not much use to you. These are the gaps we would raise on a call before recommending it.

Worth knowing before you buy

None of these are dealbreakers on their own. They are the trade-offs this plan asks you to accept.

  • No claim settlement ratio and no complaint history. Go Digit Life has not been writing life business long enough to have either. That is not a mark against them - it means you have nothing to judge them on, which for a product your family claims on decades from now is a real consideration.
  • The return-of-premium variant costs substantially more than pure term for identical cover. You are pre-paying the refund and forgoing what that difference would have earned invested.
  • The terminal illness benefit accelerates the death benefit rather than adding to it, so a payout leaves nothing further on death.
  • The pure term variant pays nothing on survival.
